The hunt for the relic weapons is back!

In this new Shadowbringers edition, the relic weapons are called Resistance Weapons. Although a lot faster and easier to acquire than their predecessors, this new questline is a lot more story-focused and, as such, has certain requirements to start.

If you're wondering what the weapons look like or how to unlock them, we've prepared a quick guide and showcase for this first chapter.

Quest Requirements

Because of it's lore-heavy nature, the new Save the Queen: Blades of Gunnhildr questline requires you to complete the Return to Ivalice Alliance Raid series.
Once you have completed the final quest The City of Lost Angels and the Shadowbringers main scenario, these new quests will be available to you in Kugane.

How to Unlock

You can accept the first quest Hail to the Queen from Keiten in Kogane Dori Markets, Kugane. For this quest, you can choose whichever job you'd like. It's not until the very last quest that you'll be able to choose whether you want a weapon for your current class or another.

How to Acquire

During the questline, you'll need to undertake an instanced duty solo. If you are defeated by any of the bosses, you progression will be saved until you either log out or enter another duty. However, the difficulty of this duty is similar to any main storyline duty, so it's not too high.

Once you complete the questline, you'll be awarded with one weapon for the job of your choice. Any additional weapons can be traded for four Thavnairian Scalepowders, which you can buy for 250 poetics each from Auriana in Mor Dhona.

Each Resistance relic weapon has an item level of 485 and it is not dyable. However, it has five materia slots, so it can be pentamelded with five Materia VIII.

As always, additional quests will be added in future patches, with the weapons growing stronger with each chapter.
But for now, we can relax and enjoy this simple first step.
