Miyu Interview

Today we bring you yet another community interview!

Being a long-time supporter of Eorzea Collection, Miyu Fubuki has an impressive collection of glamours and is one of the most versatile creators. With such a wide and creative range of themes, I'm sure the distinct works of Miyu have caught your eye.
This month, it's finally time to get to know more about Miyu and how some of these glamours were created.

So read on Eorzea Collection's exclusive interview with Miyu!

Hey, Miyu!
To start us off, can you tell us more about yourself?

Hey, everyone! I’m Miyu or Vulp. I’m usually afking somewhere on Omega because I tabbed out of the game and forgot I logged in.

In the scary world known as real life, I’m a 21-year-old student from Germany and you can usually find me online when I’m not busy with procrastinating.

I’ve also recently rediscovered my love for music and art. Now to be fair, I can’t do neither of them extremely well, but it’s a great way to get your mind off things and you can perfectly combine it with my biggest obsession: Glamour (and FF14).

How long have you been playing FFXIV and what drew you to it?

I’ve started my Eorzean journey two weeks after the Shadowbringers release. At the time, Square did a few ad deals with YouTubers and Twitch Streamers.
A German YTer I frequently watch also presented the game with plans for a community guild free company and all. A few months later, the whole thing kinda came to nothing but hey, I’m still here.

What is your favourite thing about FFXIV?

The world, the story, the music, everything honestly. I started playing MMOs when I was 10 years old and FFXIV offers everything I’d dreamed of back then. Admittedly, I’m glad I didn’t know about it till now, I used to be super cringy and I also doubt my PC could’ve handled those flowerpot graphics.

If I had to limit myself to one thing, however, I think my absolute favourite thing and the one thing that always draws me back to the game is the Dark Knight quest story and I think everyone who played it as well knows what I mean.

Well and I guess glamour is fun too. :P

Vederah Interview

Were you always as invested in glamour or did that interest develop over time?

It wasn’t my top priority when I first started the game, but I admit I always wanted to dress up my character. Back when I first played through the main story with a group of a few peeps, they were constantly yelling at me to continue the story while I was busy figuring out how glamour works in this game.

What about in your everyday life, are you as fashion-conscious as you are in-game?

As fashion-conscious as a hoodie, a black shirt with varying prints and jeans can be. My real-life self is rather boring-looking, to be honest. Instead, I enjoy my glamourous side within the bounds of the game. Also not gonna lie, Miyu is way hotter than me.

Can you walk us through your process of creating a glamour?

It depends on what I’m doing, honestly. Most of the time, I just find some random piece of gear which I think looks really cute. Then I frantically sprint from vendor to vendor to find a piece that matches it.
Nowadays, I know how most of the gear in the game looks, so I usually have a rough idea of where I wanna go with a specific glam. Usually, it still boils down to a lot of trial and error and slapping thigh-highs on it until it looks kind of cute.

Do you have a go-to glamour or gear piece?

Every thigh-high sock or boot in the game. It’s super normie but I think they’re extremely adorable and I try to find a pair that fits for almost every glam I post. For go-to glamour, I usually wear the same black armour I posted here. You can also see it on my character in the contributors page (BECOME A PATRON TODAY).

Weirdly enough, I’ve become so used to it that I kinda forgot how my character looks underneath the armor, so I’ve started going for more light-armoured and casual glams for the most part.

What about a favourite in-game colour?

Wine Red has no competition.

Also, I really like new colours like Metallic Brass and Ruby Red.

We know glamour is the true endgame, but is it your main focus in the game or do you mix it up with other activities as well?

Depends on my mood. There are some times when all I do is glamour and some times when I grind stuff or do some story sidequests. I also really love taking screenshots.
Though… most of the time I’m actually doing something that ultimately leads to more glamour.

If you could wish for one thing in FFXIV, what would it be?

More dye channels. I hate it so much when something fits almost perfectly but dyeing it looks horrific or there’s that one accent that just doesn’t look right and you can’t do anything about it.

How did you first find out about Eorzea Collection?

I put “FFXIV Glamour” into Ecosia and it dropped me off here. That’s about it pretty much.

What do you love the most about Eorzea Collection?

The community and the way Edeon is very responsive with what people suggest. It’s all like one big glamourous family and I love it.

What about Eorzea Collection, if you could wish for one thing, what would it be?

Here’s to another month of patting yourself on the back, Edeon!
I honestly can’t think of anything that you aren’t already aware of and a lot of things I wished for are already implemented (I’m looking at you, clickable EC logo).

Thank you so much for your time, Miyu!
Do you have any closing remarks?

There are a lot of people I look up to, but to make sure I don’t forget half the names I’d like to include, I’ll just say thanks to everyone on the EC discord. I absolute love the community of this page.

Also to everyone from my FC on Omega and everyone who I met through FFXIV, as well as the people behind it.

Someone I specifically have to shout out is Neneko for her amazing shaders (which I totally don’t overuse). Last but not least, thanks to Edeon for creating and maintaining the website in the first place.

Stay glamourous everyone!
