Greetings!
This one got a whiff from the Elden Ring inspiration. I pictured a mad scientist/ mage, reclusive and off the deep end with a plunge. A denizen of the swamps and forests, one young apprentices get warned about. Yet they still seeking him out for his spells. If he doesn't attack them outright. I imagine him a good part grittier and nastier than I can show him here, but you get my drift.
Bring in some flames of madness and the concept runs off on its own.
