Having lost every one of his masters to the mortals' blight, the Black Mask's conviction wanes but is not yet lost. He now wears the skin of his enemy in an attempt to better understand how they've come to foil The Great Work time and again, biding his time and playing the fool while his remaining colleagues scramble in an attempt to rebuild their long-denied dream.
