"In the days following the Calamity, western Coerthas was abandoned by the knights of Ishgard, save for the Dusk Vigil, whose defenders refused to withdraw. Since then, the fortress has only fallen further, and her garrison presumed long dead.
Stories abound, however, of a lone armored phantom passing through the corridors of the now abandoned fortress; shade or vagrant, no one knows for sure. Some even claim from the bottom of tankards to witness said figure skirmishing with wyverns..."
